West Bengal Showcases 'Double-Engine' Governance Successes Under PM Modi

West Bengal's Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari underscored the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration, attributing visible improvements in the state to the 'double-engine' model of governance. Adhikari detailed significant development projects, welfare schemes, and national security accomplishments initiated under the Modi government during a press conference.
Highlighting national security efforts, Adhikari mentioned the land handover to the Border Security Force (BSF), focusing on areas near the strategic 'Chicken's Neck' corridor. He asserted the state's commitment to completing this infrastructure in a timely manner, emphasizing the importance of national security.
Adhikari also detailed the progress on stalled initiatives in the state, including the census process and a Rs 39,000 crore agreement for the Jal Jeevan Mission. Furthermore, he mentioned that 1.43 crore families have been identified for Ayushman Bharat cards and highlighted the introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar scheme for low-income households.
The press conference, described as a national event, aimed to celebrate Modi's record tenure and his government's accomplishments over the past twelve years. Adhikari shared insights on an exhibition showcasing the impact of Modi's policies, such as the Vande Bharat train and medical facilities at Kalyani AIIMS.
Adhikari also reported on pivotal schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, which benefits 54 lakh farmers, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has provided 40 lakh houses in the state. He highlighted the transformation of 3 lakh women into 'Lakhpati Didis' and the construction of 74 lakh toilets as part of Modi's broader vision for state development.
