Delhi Industries Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Wednesday held a meeting with representatives of factory owners' associations from 27 industrial areas to discuss the government's plans to revamp those areas.

According to an official release, Bharadwaj emphasized the Delhi Government's commitment to the development and maintenance of 27 unplanned industrial areas. The government's scheme will cover 90% of the costs associated with the layout plan, leaving the remaining 10% to be borne by the factory owners.

During the meeting, Chamber of Trade & Industry (CTI) Chairman Brijesh Goyal raised concerns about the high fees for MCD map approvals in these unplanned industrial areas. In response, Bharadwaj agreed to consider a policy adjustment to align map approval fees with the government's development scheme.

Vijay Virmani, President of the Delhi Manufacturing Federation, noted that revamping these areas would benefit the trader community, promote industries, generate job opportunities, and bolster Delhi’s economy.
