Andhra Pradesh Sets Ambitious Housing Goals for 2029

The Andhra Pradesh government is committed to providing welfare houses to all eligible poor by 2029. Housing Minister K Parthasarathy stated that 1.25 lakh houses will be built in the next 100 days, and 8.25 lakh in a year. Additionally, officials are directed to include journalists, middle-class, and lower-middle-class families in housing projects.

The Andhra Pradesh government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing welfare housing to all eligible poor citizens by 2029. Housing Minister K Parthasarathy announced that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed the Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation Ltd's progress.

During the review, concrete goals were established: completing 1.25 lakh houses in the next 100 days and 8.25 lakh houses within a year. Parthasarathy communicated this ambitious plan at a press conference held at the state secretariat.

The Minister further revealed that the CM has instructed officials to extend housing benefits to journalists, middle-class, and lower-middle-class residents similarly to projects in SR Nagar and Kukatpally Housing Board in Hyderabad. The housing scheme also includes provisions for evacuees from the Polavaram Project.
