Heroic Labradors Aid in Kerala Landslide Rescue

Three specially-trained Labrador dogs from the Indian Army are actively involved in search and rescue operations in the landslide-affected areas of Wayanad, Kerala. Braving adverse conditions, Jaki, Dixie, and Sara use their unparalleled sense of smell to locate survivors buried under the debris, aiding human rescuers in critical recovery efforts.

In the wake of Kerala's devastating landslides, three heroic Labrador dogs from the Indian Army—Jaki, Dixie, and Sara—are working tirelessly to locate survivors trapped under the debris in Wayanad district.

These specialized canine companions work alongside their human counterparts, braving tough conditions such as mud, slush, and rain to sniff out lives buried beneath the rubble. These dogs, trained in search and rescue, are vital in detecting human scent under rubble.

Brought from the Dog Training Faculty (DTF) of RVC Centre and College in Meerut Cantt, Uttar Pradesh, these canines have undergone extensive training to prepare for this critical responsibility. Their efforts are crucial in helping recover individuals trapped under 10-12 feet of landslide debris.
