Hotel Collapse in Germany Leaves One Dead, Eight Trapped
A hotel in western Germany collapsed, killing one and trapping eight others. Fourteen were initially inside, with five escaping unhurt. Emergency services confirmed the fatality but have yet to recover the body, contacting some of the injured trapped. Nearby residents were evacuated, with the cause unknown.
Tragedy struck a hotel in western Germany as part of the building collapsed, resulting in one fatality and leaving eight individuals trapped in the debris, according to police reports on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Kroev, a small town by the Mosel River, where 14 people were inside the hotel when it partially gave way around 11 p.m. Tuesday. While five managed to escape unscathed, nine others remained trapped within the ruins.
Emergency services, working through the night, confirmed one death and established contact with some of the trapped victims, several of whom are seriously injured. As a safety precaution, authorities evacuated 31 residents from the surrounding area. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.
