Goa Government Takes Strong Measures Against Pothole Menace

The Goa government issued show-cause notices to over 100 contractors and held government engineers accountable for any accidents due to road potholes. The Goa government on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to more than 100 contractors over road potholes, emphasizing that government engineers would be held responsible for any accidents.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also oversees the Public Works Department (PWD), assured the public that roads would be pothole-free by the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Sawant detailed that contractors must prioritize pothole filling as per the defect liability clause, ensuring there would be no additional financial burden on the state.
