A devastating fire erupted at a resort construction site in Busan, South Korea, claiming the lives of at least six individuals, according to fire officials on Friday.
Approximately 100 workers successfully evacuated, while about 90 firefighters tackled the flames reported at around 10:20 am. Uncertainty looms over whether more workers remain trapped inside.
Six individuals were taken to hospitals in cardiac arrest and later pronounced dead, while seven others suffered minor injuries. The cause of the incident is yet to be determined, prompting South Korea's acting president, Choi Sang-mok, to order a full deployment of resources to extinguish the fire.
