The incident, occurring in Nagarkurnool district, left eight individuals trapped while 42 others escaped after the mishap. State Ministers are at the site overseeing operations, as rescuers have progressed to the 13th km mark, close to where the collapse ensued.

Efforts are focused on clearing debris obstructing access to the victims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended support, ensuring all necessary resources are available. The tunnel, part of a major irrigation project, underscores the critical nature of ongoing operations.
