Maharashtra Minister Ganesh Naik has raised alarms over the sluggish pace of relocating people displaced by encroachments at Sanjay Gandhi National Park. He pinpointed developers' delay in transferring flats as a significant hindrance.

In response to Shiv Sena MLC Sachin Ahir's inquiry, Naik clarified that despite efforts by the state to expedite the rehabilitation, challenges persist due to incomplete developer actions and infrastructural restrictions.

Hurdles such as aviation authority constraints on proposed sites and tumultuous tender processes are among the obstacles facing the initiative. Actions have commenced to remove remaining encroachments, including commercial ones, in compliance with a 1996 High Court order.
