Delhi Golf Club's Lease Extensions and Financial Returns

The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry announced receiving over Rs 15.54 crore from the Delhi Golf Course since 2012. This disclosure was made to the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, explained that the Delhi Golf Club, once known as the Lodhi Golf Club, was initially established as a municipal course in the early 1930s. The lease for its land has been renewed multiple times, most recently on July 19, 2012, covering an area of 179 acres.
Minister Sahu also addressed questions concerning the lease rate adjustments and membership processes. He clarified that lease rates are aligned with market values as determined by the Land and Development Office. Furthermore, he stated that the club manages its membership independently according to its regulations.
