The Latur Municipal Corporation (LMC) has announced an ambitious budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, emphasizing infrastructure and social welfare projects. The budget, presented by civic commissioner Babasaheb Manohare, proposes a total allocation of Rs 1,063.90 crore from the expected revenue of Rs 1,064.07 crore, anticipating a modest surplus of Rs 17 lakh.
Major allocations include Rs 305.19 crore for underground drainage and Rs 259.22 crore for water supply schemes. Notable projects also cover expanded healthcare services, the PM Street Vendor's Self-Reliant Fund, and significant investment in housing initiatives such as the PM Awas Yojana and Ramai Awas Yojana.
The LMC is also committed to enhancing waste management by processing 150 metric tons daily and improving municipal schools with digital learning resources. The initiative underlines the corporation's dedication to improving civic amenities, education, healthcare, and aesthetics in Latur.
