In northwest Pakistan, relentless heavy rains have caused devastating flash floods, claiming over 300 lives since Friday, according to officials. The inclement weather temporarily suspended rescue operations before they were resumed.

Severe damage has been reported across various northern districts where the downpour triggered mud and rock slides, washing away homes and vehicles. Buner district, bearing the brunt, alone witnessed more than 200 deaths. "Everybody is scared," said Sahil Khan, a local resident, describing the floods as a "doomsday scenario."

The government, disaster management authorities, and army continue their efforts to clear obstructed roads and deliver essential relief supplies to affected residents. The region anticipates more heavy rainfall till early September, heightening concerns of further destruction.
