In a landmark move, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled the State Environment Plan (SEP) 2025-26 on Tuesday, setting the stage for a sustainable future. The plan aims to establish Haryana as a leader in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at both national and international levels.
Presented at an event in Panchkula, the SEP offers a detailed analysis of the state's environmental scenario, targeting crucial sectors including agriculture, waste management, transport, industry, and pollution control. It was crafted by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, IGSD, and TERI.
The launch also featured a report titled 'A Dual Strategy Sprint Towards Sustainability,' advocating for a balanced approach to curb both CO2 and short-lived climate pollutants. The initiative includes setting up 13 Integrated Solid Waste Management Plants and focusing on water and air quality improvements.
