The villagers of Mustafabad have embraced the decision to rename their village to 'Kabir Dham', a change announced on Monday by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This move is anticipated to spur development projects in the area.
Adityanath made the announcement during an event in the village, which falls under the Tendua gram panchayat in Gola tehsil, located approximately 25 km from Kheri district headquarters. The village gained brief attention years ago with the founding of the Vishwa Kalyan ashram, promoting the teachings of Sant Kabir Das.
Residents, including 85-year-old Ram Bilas and Vinod Kumar, believe the renaming will help accelerate development, previously hindered despite the ashram's presence. Others, such as BJP official Vijay Shukla, praised the decision, highlighting the ashram's influence and the potential for new initiatives.
