Sri Lanka Drops ETA Requirement for Tourists

Sri Lanka has announced a change in its travel policy for tourists, removing the necessity for Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arrival in the country. The decision, which took effect on October 15, was communicated in a statement by the Department of Immigration and Emigration on Thursday.
Despite the removal of the ETA requirement, all other visa services will continue under the established processes until further notice, according to the official statement. This means travellers can apply for visas using the pre-existing system.
Interestingly, India has emerged as Sri Lanka's top inbound tourism market over the last three months, spanning from July to September, highlighting the importance of easing travel procedures for Indian tourists.
