Cyclone Ditwah Wreaks Havoc in Tamil Nadu: Lives Lost and Agriculture Devastated

Cyclone Ditwah has resulted in the death of three individuals in Tamil Nadu, as confirmed by Minister KKSSR Ramachandran on Sunday. The devastating weather event has caused wall collapses and electrocutions, claiming lives in Tuticorin, Thanjavur, and Mayiladuthurai.
In addition to the human toll, the cyclone has severely impacted agriculture, with 57,000 hectares of farmland submerged in delta districts. Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, and Mayiladuthurai are among the worst hit, with thousands of hectares of crops under water.
Authorities have mobilized 28 disaster response teams, with additional support on standby, to assist in affected areas. Communication with coast-town administrations remains a priority, ensuring immediate response to any required interventions, as emphasized by the minister.
