Delhi Government Unveils Comprehensive Plan to Slash PM 2.5 Levels
The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is taking robust action to cut PM 2.5 air pollution levels. The plan includes expanding the electric bus fleet, implementing smart parking, increasing greenery, and addressing traffic congestion with additional personnel and improvements at key congestion hotspots.

The Delhi government is committed to majorly reducing PM 2.5 pollution over the next four years, as per Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Gupta emphasized a measurable, result-driven strategy to tackle air pollution after a high-level meeting on the matter.
The outlined plan includes expanding electric vehicle infrastructure, decongesting traffic, and increasing green cover. With 62 congestion hotspots identified, the government will deploy 1,200 DTC employees to aid traffic management. Additionally, mechanized cleaning and dust suppression strategies are on the agenda to handle road dust issues.
The plan calls for deploying 250 anti-dust machines and 70 road sweepers, costing over Rs 2,300 crore. To cut down on private vehicles, the government plans to enhance parking facilities with smart pricing, focusing on transit areas. Public charging stations will rise from 9,000 to 36,000 to boost EV usage.
