An earthquake with a magnitude of 6 struck Myanmar on Tuesday evening, causing tremors in Kolkata and surrounding areas. Realizing the seismic event, high-rise residents and office employees reported experiencing aftershocks. Despite the intensity, no damages or injuries were recorded.

On Tuesday evening, a 6-magnitude earthquake originating in Myanmar sent tremors through Kolkata and its adjoining regions, according to an IMD official.
Residents in high-rise buildings and office workers reported feeling the aftershocks at around 9.04 pm, though the quake lasted only a few seconds.
The IMD later stated that the earthquake was located at a depth of 27 km, with no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the impacted areas.
