With temperatures climbing in Andhra Pradesh, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has instructed officials to enact precautionary strategies to avert heatwave-induced fatalities. She emphasized department-specific action plans and encouraged collectors to consistently update the public about alerts via the Disaster Management Authority and Real Time Governance Society (RTGS).

Anitha stressed the importance of protecting lives, urging officials to ensure that no lives are lost to heatstroke. She advised rescheduling outdoor work between noon and 4 pm, focusing on safeguarding workers, the elderly, and children. The medical department has been directed to prepare special beds, medicines, and ambulances to treat heatstroke victims.

Cooling shelters at public locations should be established, and NGOs were asked to distribute buttermilk and water. For livestock safety, regular water supply in villages via tankers and proper fodder management are essential. Anitha also prioritized uninterrupted power for domestic needs, while APSDMA's Prakhar Jain highlighted that Central Andhra and Rayalaseema could experience higher temperatures, urging readiness based on previous experiences.
