Ajay Kumar Sood, the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Centre, underscored the critical role of science and technology in shaping India's future. Speaking at the 18th Goyal Prizes at Kurukshetra University, he advocated for innovation-driven growth to solve societal challenges and emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration as crucial.
Sood called for universities and research institutions to align their efforts with national priorities and global challenges, highlighting India's strides in space research, digital innovation, and sustainable development. He stressed the need for continued investment in research and stronger industry-academia partnerships.
At the event, the Goyal Prizes, established in 1992 by NRI philanthropist Ram S Goyal, honored several scientists for their contributions. The Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, emphasized the awards' role in recognizing both past achievements and future potential in science.
