Rajasthan experienced a reprieve from oppressive heat as parts of the state, including its capital, Jaipur, were graced with light rainfall on Friday, credited to a western disturbance, according to the weather office.
Within the last 24 hours, scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds swept through the region, contributing to showers in various areas; notably, Chhabra in the Baran district recorded 18 mm of precipitation—the highest statewide rainfall reported.
Officials reported that dust storms and rain led to a slight decrease in maximum temperatures, which currently hover between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. Forecasts suggest that similar conditions could persist over the next 48 to 72 hours, driven by another western disturbance along with easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal.
