A fire broke out on the top floor of a four-storey building in the Mumbra area of Thane, Maharashtra, but quick intervention by Ashraf Shanu Pathan, the local Leader of Opposition, averted a potential disaster.

Before the fire brigade arrived, Pathan swiftly turned off the main power supply and helped evacuate the residents from the building. The fire was suspected to have started due to a gas cylinder pipe burst.

Pathan coordinated initial response efforts, removed valuables, and prevented further fire spread by cutting electricity, earning him praise for his actions. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, and the fire was brought under control soon after.
