Agra's Metro Ambitions: A New Dawn for Urban Commuting

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved land transfer for Agra Metro's Corridor-II, enhancing urban transport infrastructure. In a significant move towards modernizing Agra’s transport infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sanctioned the transfer of land for the Agra Metro Rail Project's Corridor-II. The decision, made in a recent cabinet meeting at Lok Bhavan, aims to ease congestion along the Agra Cantt-Kalindi Vihar corridor, according to officials.

State Higher Education Minister and Agra South MLA, Yogendra Upadhyay, lauded the initiative, calling it a substantial boon for Agra's residents. He emphasized the metro's potential to reduce traffic jams, cut travel time, and promote environmental conservation while equipping the city with state-of-the-art urban infrastructure.

An official statement disclosed that 550 square meters of vacant land in Sadar Tehsil will be allocated for the project's metro stations and viaducts, free of cost, thereby supporting the project’s seamless execution and fortifying Agra’s transformation into a hub of modern urban transit.
