Tropical Storm Arthur formed near the Texas coast and is expected to bring life-threatening flooding across portions of the southeastern U.S., the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Wednesday.
It is the first named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.
The storm was located about 40 miles (60 km) east-northeast of Port Oconnor Texas, producing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour (65 km/h).
