​Tropical ​Storm Arthur ‌formed near ​the Texas coast and ‌is expected to bring life-threatening flooding across portions ‌of the southeastern U.S., ‌the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Wednesday.

It ⁠is ​the ⁠first named storm of ⁠the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.

The ​storm was located about ⁠40 miles (60 km) ⁠east-northeast of ​Port Oconnor Texas, producing maximum ⁠sustained winds of 40 miles ⁠per ⁠hour (65 km/h).
