Rugby-England to tackle Barbarians ahead of Australia tour

England will face the Barbarians at Twickenham on June 19 as a warm-up to their three-test summer tour of Australia, the Rugby Football Union announced on Thursday. It will be the first time since 2019 they have clashed with the invitational side, when an England XV ran out 51-43 victors as flyhalf Marcus Smith showed his early potential.

"It will also be a good preparation for us ahead of an important tour to Australia," England coach Eddie Jones said in a media release from the RFU. "The Barbarians fixture is a special one in rugby, it's always a good challenge for the players, entertaining for supporters and showcases the spirit of the game."
