Amit Panghal's Triumph: Road to Paris Olympics Secured

World Championships silver medallist Amit Panghal secured his place in the Paris Olympics by defeating China's Chuang Liu in the 51kg quarterfinals of the World Qualification Tournament. He will join fellow Indian boxers Nishant Dev, Nikhat Zareen, Preeti Pawar, and Lovlina Borgohain, who have also booked their Olympic berths.

World Championships silver medallist Amit Panghal has clinched a spot in the Paris Olympics, following a decisive victory over China's Chuang Liu in the 51kg quarterfinals at the 2nd World Qualification Tournament on Sunday. Panghal, who is India's sole male world championship silver medallist, secured a hard-earned 5-0 win against Liu, earning his ticket to a second Olympic Games.

With this win, Panghal joins his compatriots—Nishant Dev (71kg), Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Preeti Pawar (54kg), and Lovlina Borgohain (75kg)—all of whom have already booked their Olympic berths.

Panghal's qualification came after missing out earlier, having lost to world championship bronze medallist Deepak Bhoria in previous selection assessments. As India awaits further qualifications, attention now turns to Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) and Sachin Siwach (57kg), who are yet to compete for their Olympic quotas.
