Phil Mickelson beat Tiger Woods in "The Match" last month, but Woods could have his chance to top Mickelson in 2019. Golf Digest reported Wednesday that the two golfers actually signed a three-year contract to play head-to-head matches through 2020. Golfworld, however, said the format could differ, with Mickelson and Woods teaming up against another pair of golfers, or each one pairing with another player and headlining the twosome.

NFL notebook: Rams' Gurley (knee) in limbo for finale

Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said running back Todd Gurley could miss his second straight game with a knee injury Sunday against San Francisco. The Rams were in a similar position last weekend, ultimately deciding to deactivate the three-time Pro Bowl selection just before their 31-9 win Sunday at Arizona. Gurley leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns (17) and total touchdowns (21) but has been dealing with inflammation in his left knee since Week 15.

Titans' Mariota misses practice, 'fighting' to play finale

Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota missed Wednesday's practice and is day-to-day ahead of a crucial Sunday night finale against the Indianapolis Colts. On his weekly radio appearance on 104.5 FM's Wake-Up Zone, Mariota vowed he is doing "everything in my power" to be on the field.

With the Los Angeles Rams already guaranteed a playoff berth, coach Sean McVay is considering resting running back Todd Gurley for the season finale despite a chance to lock up a first-round bye, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gurley is considered day-to-day with a knee injury ahead of Sunday's game against San Francisco.
