Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been handed a six-month driving ban for speeding in his Rolls-Royce, according to Sky Sports. The 26-year-old England attacker was clocked at 104 mph on the M60 in Manchester last December.
Sky Sports reported that a court official confirmed Rashford's ban, adding that he was fined £1,666 and ordered to pay £120 in court costs and a £66 surcharge. Rashford admitted to the offence under the Single Justice Procedure. The speeding incident occurred less than three months after Rashford crashed another Rolls-Royce near the Carrington training ground, involving another vehicle but requiring no ambulance.
Rashford recently missed out on a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad. Despite having been a key player under former head coach Gareth Southgate, featuring in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and the Euro 2021 final, his form has declined dramatically this past Premier League season.
Throughout the season, the 26-year-old forward scored just eight goals and provided five assists in 42 appearances—a stark contrast to his 30-goal output in 2023, when he was named Manchester United's Player of the Year. His current performance represents the lowest since the 2016/17 campaign.
Rashford participated in Manchester United's first pre-season game against Rosenborg, playing alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and captain Casemiro. Despite the presence of first-team players, United struggled and lost the game 1-0. (ANI)
