Former Commonwealth Games champion boxer Akhil Kumar hailed Amit Panghal's resilience and journey towards clinching an Olympic spot for the Paris 2024 Games. Panghal, who once ruled the boxing world, faced setbacks like being dropped from the national team, only to bounce back stronger.

Panghal's exit in the first round of the Tokyo Olympics led to a temporary ousting from the national team under the Boxing Federation of India's evaluation system headed by Bernard Dunne. This period tested Panghal's mettle, but he returned determined to prove his ability by securing an Olympic quota in the 51kg category.

Akhil emphasized that Panghal's rich experience and mental fortitude make him a formidable contender. With medals from major events excluding the Olympics, Panghal hopes to complete his collection.
