India emerged victorious in the Women’s Asia Cup match against the UAE on Sunday, putting up an impressive scoreboard. Notable performances included Shafali Verma's 37 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur's 66 runs, guiding India to a formidable total of 201 runs.
The match witnessed crucial contributions, with Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh adding 14 and 64 runs respectively. Despite early fall of wickets, strategic gameplay saw India maintaining momentum throughout their innings.
UAE's bowling attack, led by Samaira Dharnidharka and Kavisha Egodage, aimed to restrict India's scoring but fell short. Dharnidharka managed one wicket with an economic spell, while Egodage took two wickets. Nevertheless, India's commanding total proved challenging for the UAE.
