Chelsea Offers New Contract to Conor Gallagher Amidst European Interest
Chelsea has extended a new contract offer to midfielder Conor Gallagher, whose current deal expires next year. Team manager Enzo Maresca confirmed ongoing negotiations before their pre-season friendly against Manchester City. Gallagher, 24, draws interest from top European clubs and is currently on holiday.
Chelsea has offered midfielder Conor Gallagher a new contract as his current deal is set to expire next year, manager Enzo Maresca announced ahead of a pre-season friendly against Manchester City in Ohio. Several top European clubs are reportedly interested in signing the 24-year-old should he not agree to new terms.
"I can say that he is in contact with the club to find a solution and the club has offered him a new contract. That is the news that I have received," Maresca informed reporters late on Friday. Gallagher, currently on holiday after participating in the European Championship, did not accompany the squad on their U.S. tour.
"The main focus or target at the moment for me, Conor, and the club is to find a solution that makes everyone happy," added Maresca. Chelsea is set to play City in their Premier League opener on August 18.
