Werth, riding Wendy, shared the podium with teammates Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Frederic Wandres. Bredow-Werndl, riding Dalera, had won individual dressage gold at the Tokyo Games three years earlier. Germany's total score was 235.790, narrowly beating Denmark's 235.669. Britain claimed the bronze medal with 232.492 points.

The German team faced strong competition from Denmark, led by top-ranked Cathrine Dufour-Laudrup on Freestyle, who scored 81.216. Denmark's Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Vayron and Nanna Skodborg Merrald contributed to the silver win, while Britain's Becky Moody, Carl Hester, and Charlotte Fry took bronze.
