Aditi Ashok played a commendable 1-under 71 after a first-round 72, while Diksha Dagar remained even at 72 following a 71 on her first day. Both golfers are sitting at 1-under par for 36 holes. Aditi had an impressive stretch of four consecutive birdies from holes six to nine, despite some setbacks, while Diksha demonstrated strength but faltered on the last hole with a double bogey.
Swiss golfer Morgane Metraux lit up the course with an astonishing 8-under 28 on the front nine, which included two eagles and four birdies, placing her at the top of the leaderboard at 8-under overall. Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko, aiming to become the first player to win medals in three consecutive Olympic Games, is also in contention.
