Following a historic bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics, the Indian men's hockey team has now turned its focus to the Asian Champions Trophy. Arriving at New Delhi Airport, forward Shamsher Singh said the team's confidence has surged as they now prepare for future tournaments.
'It is a very proud moment for us and the entire nation to win the bronze medal at the Olympics,' Shamsher told ANI. 'We received an outpouring of love from the country. This boosts our confidence significantly.' He credited the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), Sports Authority of India (SAI), and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for their support.
The team is set to compete in the next edition of the Asian Champions Trophy, where India is the reigning champion. Forward Sukhjeet Singh also reflected on their Olympic journey, emphasizing the joy of the bronze despite aiming for gold. This marks India's consecutive bronze medal win at the Olympics, a feat achieved under coach Craig Fulton.
