Overwhelmed by the grand reception she received on her arrival from the Paris Olympics, wrestler Vinesh Phogat declared her fight against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) would persist, expressing hope for the triumph of truth.

Hundreds of supporters flocked to the IGI airport to welcome Vinesh, who was disqualified from the 50kg final at the Olympics for being overweight. An appeal against her disqualification was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

As she traveled from Delhi to her native village in Balali, Vinesh was honored by supporters and khap panchayats, making the 135-km journey stretch to nearly 13 hours. Upon arrival, she addressed the gathering, reiterating her commitment to continuing the fight for justice.

During their protest at Jantar Mantar, Vinesh, alongside Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, had accused then WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. The case is ongoing in a Delhi court.

Vinesh expressed that the overwhelming support would give her the strength to move forward and possibly return to wrestling. She also emphasized her desire to inspire the next generation of female wrestlers in her village.
