The Green Park curator confirmed on Wednesday that the wicket for the second Test between India and Bangladesh is set to be an ideal five-day pitch. It will offer support to pacers during the first two sessions, while spinners are expected to dominate the latter part of the game.

The match is slated to commence on Friday. According to curator Shiv Kumar, the pitch promises a Chennai match-like feeling, with bounce aiding batsmen in the initial two days, followed by favorable conditions for spinners in the final three days.

The black soil for the Green Park pitch has been sourced from Kali Mitti village near Unnao, 23km from Kanpur. Black soil typically assists spinners, whereas red soil helps pacers. The pitch is expected to play low and slow. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has also taken an eco-friendly initiative, reducing plastic use inside the stadium.
