Thirteen people have been arrested in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, following violent clashes during a rally celebrating the Indian cricket team's ICC Champions Trophy win. The unrest, characterized by stone-pelting, arson, and vandalism, occurred late Sunday, injuring four individuals and damaging vehicles.
According to Indore Collector Ashish Singh, violence erupted in five different areas. Three cars and several motorcycles were set ablaze. Authorities have charged 13 individuals with arson and violence, and further actions using the National Security Act are being considered. Additional FIRs may be filed as investigations continue.
The incident reportedly began near a mosque due to a disagreement over bursting firecrackers. Videos of the violence are under review to identify more suspects. Officials urge the public against spreading unverified information on social media. Peace has since been restored, and police remain vigilant.
