Patrice Motsepe Re-elected as CAF President, Samuel Eto’o Joins Executive Committee
South African mining magnate Patrice Motsepe was re-elected unopposed as the president of the Confederation of African Football at its congress in Cairo. Samuel Eto’o, after winning an appeal, joined the executive committee as a representative for the central African region.

At the Confederation of African Football's congress in Cairo, South African mining magnate Patrice Motsepe secured re-election as president without opposition. This marks his second four-year term, having first been backed by FIFA's Gianni Infantino in 2021.
In a significant executive committee shakeup, Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, earned a seat following a successful appeal against his prior exclusion. Eto'o's return comes after reinstatement from previous bans related to breaches of conduct.
New committee members include Mustapha Ishola Raji of Liberia, Bestine Kazadi Ditabala, and others, while notable shifts occurred within southern African representation. Additionally, the CAF confirmed six African representatives on the FIFA Council, solidifying a robust leadership team across the continent.
