The British government is channeling over £900 million ($1.2 billion) into sports to support events like the men's European Championship and the Tour de France's Grand Departs.
Announced on Thursday, this investment will also aid a bid by UK soccer federations to host the 2035 Women's World Cup.
Over £400 million ($540 million) is allocated for grassroots facilities, while the remaining funds are earmarked for major events to fuel economic growth, create jobs, and boost regional prosperity.
