India has emerged as the leading nation in the World Anti-Doping Agency's 2023 testing figures, revealing a 3.8% positivity rate from 5,606 samples, significantly higher than other countries.

In response, India's sports ministry is planning a major clean-up and has promised to amend the existing Anti-Doping Act. Athletics lead with 61 Adverse Analytical Findings (AAF) out of 1,223 samples.

The ministry plans to implement monthly awareness programs and ensure nutritional supplements are checked in specialized labs to address unintentional doping and convince athletes of the benefits of compliance.
