In a captivating encounter at Kishore Bharati Krirangan, debutants Namdhari Sports Academy and South United FC clashed in the 134th Durand Cup. Late goals by Bhupinder and Brazilian Cledson Dasilva secured a win for Namdhari, bringing their confidence to face bigger challenges in their I-League journey.

South United, in their iconic orange kit, put up a valiant fight but couldn't change their fortunes. Coach Kaja Bhadussa made strategic changes, swapping keeper Nishanth for Sunil Singh, who delivered an outstanding performance despite the loss. Under coach Harpreet Singh, Namdhari's experience with foreign players Cledson and Lamine Moro made a clear impact.

The match saw intense action with Sunil making crucial saves, but it was Bhupinder's persistence that first broke the deadlock. His right flank runs set up a sequence leading to a goal, and Namdhari capitalized on defensive lapses to complete their victory. The campaign continues, with eyes now on Kolkata's Group B showdown between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mohammedan Sporting.
