In an unprecedented move, Pakistan has canceled its pre-match press conference scheduled before facing the UAE in Dubai, a decision confirmed by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Tuesday evening. The cancellation follows a controversial handshake incident after Pakistan's 7-wicket loss to India on Sunday.

Traditionally, handshakes before and after a match are standard in cricket. However, the Indian team refused to engage in the customary gesture, leading to Pakistan's withdrawal from the post-match presentation. The refusal was linked to strained bilateral ties following the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, attributed to Pakistan-backed militants.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav, speaking to reporters, justified India's stance by emphasizing priorities beyond sports, expressing solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam attack, and dedicating the victory to India's armed forces.
