Dharambir emerged as India's standout performer at the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, seizing a silver medal in the demanding men's club throw F51 category at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The 36-year-old Paralympic gold medallist clinched his best throw with a distance of 29.71 meters on his final attempt.
In his statement, Dharambir expressed satisfaction with competing on home ground, underscoring the significance of successful event management and India's bid for future Paralympic events. His coach, Amit Saroha, noted the challenges faced, such as adverse conditions, but praised the team's preparation and perseverance.
Elsewhere, Atul Kaushik secured bronze in the men's discus throw F57, further embellishing India's achievements on the day. Despite disruptions like rain, which affected all competitors' performances, Kaushik shared his joy and dedication, attributing his success to local training conditions.
