Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc stands just three wickets shy of hitting the 250-wicket milestone in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Scheduled to play against India in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, Starc could become the fourth Australian to reach this prestigious milestone.

The series, already secured by Australia with a 2-0 lead, positions this upcoming match as a formality, yet it still holds significance for Starc. Having acquired three wickets in two matches at an average of 28.00, he has been a consistent performer with a best of 2/62 in the series so far.

At present, Starc ranks fourth among Australia's all-time highest wicket-takers in ODIs with 247 scalps, averaging 26.75 and best figures of 6/28. Should he claim three more wickets, he'd join the ranks of Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, and Shane Warne in the exclusive 250-wicket club. His past record against India is impressive, boasting 106 wickets in 49 matches, with a best of 6/43.
