The initiative, fueled by an initial $25,000 and backed by FIFA's Player Impact Programme, aims to offer financial assistance and mentorship to girls aged 12 to 16. Buchanan's foundation reflects her life story, characterized by sacrifices, such as choosing soccer boots over back-to-school shoes, and is aimed at providing the opportunities she once longed for.

Jill Ellis, FIFA Chief Football Officer, emphasized the significance of players extending their legacy beyond the pitch, underlining the program's power in amplifying players' voices.
