India has announced its women's cricket squad for the upcoming England tour and the Women's T20 World Cup, commencing on June 12. The squad sees the inclusion of Bharti Fulmali, Yastika Bhatia, and uncapped Nandini Sharma, as selectors aim to bolster the team's capability for the international stage.
The lineup excludes specialist batters like Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol, while all-rounder Amanjot Kaur and seamer Kashvee Gautam have been sidelined due to injuries. Harmanpreet Kaur retains her captaincy with Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain.
Yastika's dual capability as a top-order batter and wicketkeeper secured her spot over Pratika in the squad. The team aims to address previous bowling concerns to ensure a more competitive performance, beginning their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham.
