India Assembles Strong Esports Lineup for ENC 2026
India finalizes its chess team for the ENC 2026, as Grandmasters Mitrabha Guha and Nihal Sarin prepare to compete on the global stage. Meanwhile, other national teams are gearing up across various esports titles, such as DOTA 2 and MOBA Legends, for regional qualifiers and potential finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
India's chess team for the 2026 Esports Nations Cup (ENC) is now set with Grandmaster Mitrabha Guha entering the lineup by winning the regional qualifier. He joins Grandmaster Nihal Sarin, who secured his spot through the Champions Chess Tour (CCT) Leaderboard. The event, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from November 2 to 29, will feature 128 global players vying for a USD 600,000 prize pool.
The tournament begins on November 2 with a round-robin stage of 16 groups, followed by a 64-player single-elimination playoff. Top chess players like Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura have confirmed their participation. The selection ensures 64 countries and territories are represented at this prominent esports championship.
Mitrabha's qualification came through an intense nine-round regional qualifier, further highlighting India's competitive spirit. National preparations are also underway for DOTA 2, MOBA Legends, and Rocket League, demonstrating India's comprehensive approach to excelling in multiple gaming arenas at ENC 2026.
