Ridhima looking for second consecutive win at Hero WPG Tour

Ridhima Dilawari will have a chance to become the first multiple winner of the ongoing season when she takes the field in the fifth leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour here on Wednesday. The event, which will tee-off at the ITC Classic Golf & Country Club here, will see an interesting battle as three of the past four winners are in the field vying for the top honours.

Ridhima won the fourth leg with an excellent rally in the final round, when she turned a three-shot deficit into a three-shot win over Gaurika Bishnoi, who is also participating here and has played only two of the first four legs. Two of the other three winners, Neha Tripathi and Gursimar Badwal are also in the field. Vesa Malik, who won the third leg, is the only absentee this week from among this season's winners.

A few of the top players like Vani Kapoor, Diksha Dagar and Astha Madan will also miss the tournament as they are competing at the Australian LPGA Tour events. The current season features many new faces, with numerous youngsters turning professional this year. This has increased the competition, even as the newcomers are trying to find their feet on the pro tour.

In the first round, Ridhima, Afshan Fatima and Khushi Khanijau are in the first group, followed by Gaurika, amateur Natalii Gupta in her maiden appearance and Ayesha Kapur. The third group has Komal Chaudhary, Anousha Tripathi and Smriti Mehra. Ananya Datar, Sifat Alag and Siddhi Kapoor make up the fourth group, while Jyotsana Singh, Gursimar Badwal and Suchitra Ramesh form the fifth. The final group comprises Mehar Atwal, Neha Tripathi and Anisha Padukone.
