German defense group Hensoldt is reassessing its safety measures following reports that Russia was planning to assassinate the CEO of peer Rheinmetall, the company said on Friday.

"For us, this is an opportunity to review our already high safety standards once again," said a spokesperson for Hensoldt, which produces radar technology for the IRIS-T air defense system used in Ukraine.
