Kremlin Criticizes NATO Summit's Arms Policies: Calls it a Dangerous Escalation

The Kremlin expressed disapproval on Friday over statements made at this week's NATO summit, which permitted Kyiv to use weapons supplied by Western countries to strike Russian territory. The move was labeled as a dangerous escalation.

Andriy Yermak, Ukraine's top presidential aide, urged on Thursday an end to the restrictions on using allied-supplied weapons against deep Russian targets, calling it a potential 'game-changer' in combating Moscow. 'We have noted statements from some capitals, like London, who see no restrictions, while other countries aim to keep a balance and oppose easing terms for long-range missile usage,' Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated.

Peskov asserted that Moscow believes such weapons are already striking Russian soil. 'The key concern is that these missiles are hitting our territory. Any intention of increasing the range is a provocation and a dangerously escalatory move,' Peskov added.
